FAQs

Have a read of the following frequently asked questions regarding face masks, shipping, and all things Second Stitch...

  • Face Mask Layers
Our masks are made of TWO layers as recommended by WHO. These two layers create a pocket so you can insert additional filters for extra absorbent protection. We have 2 types of masks available - 2 layer reusable face mask with a filter pocket and a 3 layer mask (No filter pocket).
  • Filters for our 2 layer Masks
You can add your own filter to create a third, middle layer; the DHHS suggests using fabric blends (cotton polyester blend / polypropylene), which could be an old piece of clothing or even a piece of reusable 'green' shopping bags! Search 'DHHS masks' for more information online. Materials with a tighter fibre weave provides better protection.
  • Sizing
Using a tape measure or ruler measure along the bridge of your nose just below your eyes down to the underside of your chin. Measure across your face from cheek bone to cheek bone. Check the face mask product page for the dimensions.
  • Fitting
You will receive your face mask with two untied pieces of elastic. Hold your mask to your face and pinch the elastic behind your ears. Tie a knot in the elastic and pull the knot inside the fabric channel of the mask. This means the knot won't sit behind your ear and the mask will be more comfortable to wear. An instructional video is available to watch on our Face Mask product page. *Please remember that wearing a face mask does not replace social distancing measures. Continue to wash your hands regularly, use hand sanitiser, and keep 1.5 metres away from other members of the public. Please stay home when possible and follow government guidelines.

PO Box's, Parcel Lockers, and regional locations will receive orders via Australia Post. All other orders will receive orders via private couriers such as Couriers Please and Fastway. All customers will receive shipping confirmation emails and tracking numbers. Please call the studio if you're having trouble with your order.
